Housing and Safety for Older Adults
There are 600 deaths annually in Ontario attributed to falls among people over 65. Falls are the leading cause of hospitalization for seniors and the main reason for nursing home admission. Yet falls are preventable. Home designs are also changing to accommodate aging in place. Eventually when a move must be made, what should you look for? How do you access community support services?
This presentation examines these and other important issues. It is designed to be delivered in a 1-1/2 hour session but can be reduced to a 1 hour session with reduced scope. Rates available by calling us.
Learn how to conduct a home safety audit. Reduce your risk of falls. Learn what questions to ask when moving to a retirement home or long term care facility.
